Finally got enough driving in to know my car again, so I installed the harness bar I got from Ken last night. When I drove to work this morning I was pleasantly surprised. The car "seemed" a little more stable, very subtle. But what really stood out surprised me.

After beefing up the exhaust during the rebuild with Hokker 2151's to true duals with 3" R/T metal matrix bullet cats, 3" X-pipe and 2 3/4" Borla catback there is a fair amount of resonance. At certain RPM's there were a couple of buzz's inside that I hadn't got a line on. They were GONE this morning!

Thanks again Ken, getting the Camber Brace installed is next :)

I noticed an improvement, albeit small, in the area of reduced cowl shake when I first installed the Cross Bar. I never did get around to installing the Camber Brace though.

Glad to hear it's working out for you Colin. :CAC

I had the Cross Bar and loved it. I recently got their S/T Frame Support, it rocks also!! The Camber Brace is one of the best things I've gotten for the Vette! R-D has great products and customer service.

Now that you mention it Ken, that is one of the subtleties :) :w

Does it seem to give full movement of the seat. At 6'3" I need every inch I can get.

It does not interfer with the seats at all.

Thanks,
I just purchased the Camber Brace and am waiting to have it installed. Thought the cross bar would complete my handling upgrades. had considered the Targa Truss but seems such a hassle as I drive a great deal with the top off.

I don't have the Targa Truss, but I have seen it on two differnet cars. It is easy to take on/off. Probably easier then the factory roof panel. It seems to give more stiffness to the car then with the factory panel in place. I've seen people autox with them, I wouldn't autox without the panel in because the car is to flimsy. But the Targa Truss fixes that and you get to have the wind in your hair.

Whadayah mean, have it installed? Is your labor free cause someone else does it :confused :L

I gotta tell ya, and I'll be posting and writing RD about this,I installed my camber brace this afternoon and THE DIRECTIONS ARE NOT ACCURATE :mad :mad :mad

You can not pull the original camber bolts out without removing EVRYTHING on the dr.side down through the power steering pump because it (the bolt) can't be removed due to the powersteering pulley!

This is not mentioned in RD's ads or printed instructions :eyerole Further more, it should be noted that the brace makes it MUCH more difficult to do most taskes involving the bolt ons and everything from the radiator to them. This includes getting onto the tensioner with whatever 1/2" implement you might use to remove your serpentine belt.

Suffice it to say, the 45 to 60 min job turned into much more. I haven't come to any conclusion on performace enhacements of the mod, cause it got to damn late for me to drive it more than a few miles. :(

Sorry to hear that you had to remove everything to get the bolt out. Feel free to give me a call sometime and maybe I can give you some pointers on how to get it out. I have installed several Camber-braces over the past 4 years and the bolt can be removed without even removing the belt in most cases. About the only time that I've run into any problems is when there might be a collasped engine mount. When that happens, the clearence between the power steering pump and the frame horn gets a little closer. Sooner or later your going to have to change a belt, so give me a call and I'll be glad to give you some ideas. I wish there was a way to convey all the tips and tricks that I have learned into a formal instruction sheet, but I'm afraid it would be pretty confusing. That is why I have my telephone number at the top of the page. I try to take care of issues 24/7 when someone needs help.

Thanks,

Thanks for your response Dave, forgot you were in here and I was going to e-mail you, but I'll try to give you a buzz on Monday. I'd definately like to know the magic formula for getting that bolt out! It seems more than difficult for me to believe that I coulda done more. I sure didn't want to take all that stuff off. :(

But, I do love that crossbar :upthumbs :D
