I'm looking for someone in New England who can re-paint black Grand Sport wheels. Has anyone ever had this done? If so, how did they turn out? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks.

How did you make out finding Keystone, in Taunton, MA. Hope the info was good. Tour their plant if you get a chance, just take a set of ear plugs.

If you find a good wheel shop let me know, I have had my aluminum wheels clearcoated twice by a local wheel shop and they stil look terrible!

Keystone will take your wheels, strip them, lathe them prep them, paint them and clear powdercoat them. The finished product is excellent,. the finish is gaurenteed and the maintnence is simply wipe clean. I am in Tewksbury, MA Car Whisper, if you want to look at several versions of their finished product let me know, I would be glad to show you my 75 and friends 84, both redone last winter. the best part is if you drop off the rims in Woburn, they will transport them, and return them to Woburn. They have a small office on New Boston Road, past the old Woburn Mall. WE have many club members who have used them and feel confident you will be happy.

The other way, lots of buffing by hand is good, but a lot of work. Keystone was worth every penny to me.

by the way, I dont work for them or any affiliation other than being a satisfied customer.

Have the wheels on the 84 developed any white blemishes under the finish? That is the problem I'm having with the wheels I have had refinished twice. Something seems to bleed out of the Aluminum under ther finish. The shop in Tewksbury, MA that refinished them for me said that these wheels are notoriously pourus prone to this happening. My wheels are clear Powdercoated and they look fantastic when they are first refinished but after about 6 months I already have some new blemishes growing under the finish. I never get these wheels wet in the rain and as a matter of fact they haven't even been washed since I had them refinished. I only put about 3000 miles on them per year in only the finest weather conditions. So they are definitely not exposed to any road chemicals etc. Does anyone refinish these wheels to the exact factory finish? I'm looking for a shop that can deal with this problem. Does Keystone Wheels have a web site?

Thanks,
John

I dont know is Keystone has a website. With some digging I can come up with the number for the rep in Woburn who we deal with, his name is Tim I believe. It is my understanding that the finish is guarenteed for life and I have actually had one redone due to a road chip. I will ask Ray who has the 84 to look at his, as they were done in June and do see some weather. I will post back when I have further info.

Keystone does have a Website, it is www.keystone-auto.com. They list teh Woburn address as 150 New Boston Road and a telephone number of 508-823-7072. I believe this is the number for the Taunton plant, as Woburn is just a drop off/pickup office. I believe our Reps name is Tim Roberts(may be Robbins). Check with them regarding you rims and yoou can tell him the guys from North Shore Corvettes refered you.
