re:to do it myself or not-that is the question

I bought a set of upper and lower ball joints for my 88. The service manual shows how to change them by removing the knuckle joint. Is that really necessary? I never did ball joints before so I am looking for any advice before I start this. Harbor freight has a ball joint puller kit that I'm thinking about getting. Of course, I could take the easy way out and go to a garage and have it done. I really would like the satisfaction of doing it though. How bad can I screw this up?

If you are able to support your vette safely, then have at it. If you don't own a Chilton manual, you might acquire or borrow one. The instructions and pics are adequate. No need for a GM manual for this operation

I have a service manual (helms) and it doesn't seem too difficult-of course it never does until it too late. I'm hoping someone who has done one will give me a little input.

just did mine last month, autozone has loaner press for lowers.did mine on car,not real fun but not too bad.the 2nd lower will be a lot easier once you figure the press.the uppers were more of pain if you ask me,take your time,

thanks truxell3. Thats just what I was hoping to hear.
