Hey everyone,

How hard is it to reach the AC evaporator core?
My AC is cool, but not cold.
I've checked freon levels, replaced the compressor, orifice tube, cleared out debris, and everything else I can think of.

A fellow car guy said he had a problem once where the evaporator core in the car got dirty, so it was not chilling the air efficiently.

What would it take to reach the evaporator and clean it?
Is this something you have to do from the engine compartment with everything taken apart?

Thanks!!!

From what Ive read in previous threads plan on 6 hours of blood, swearing and not being able to move right for a week afterwords

best thing to do,is search and see if you can find previous threads about it

good luck!!

You can get to the side of the evap closest to the engine by removing that side of the plastic housing. Might be able to blow/flush out any debris that way.

Minifridge1138, I remember all the stuff you've done to get your ac to work right! I think you can see the evap if you pull the blower motor resistors outta the top of it. That might at least give you an idea if pulling it is necessary or not. I ended up flushing my condenser, but left it on the car. I'll do it again but this time I'll pull it.
