Hi everyone,I have a metallic loud "click" when I put the car in gear, forward or reverse and sometimes when I just put on the brake's.The whole diferential has been rebuilt, every thing but new caliper's and rotor's.I noticed that the retaining hole's in the brake pad's are quite a bit bigger than the pin's.I think the pad's are rocking back and forth hitting the the caliper's and making the noise??What is strange is with the wheel off and watching the caliper while everything is turning and applying the brake's it won't do it.Any Idea's. Thank's alot

The pin hole in the brake pad backing plate is a slot by design. Have you checked your U-joints?

Thank You johnz. It sound's like U-joint's but they are new and I even took out the half shaft's and drive shaft to see if a needle fell out. I should have pointed out that I rebuilt the whole differential at one time.If I had done just one thing it would be easier to trouble shoot. As for the pin I think you are talking about drum brakes? Thank you.
