Is there anything special about replacing pads on rear ?? I've never done a car with rear disc brakes ??
I have a friend that said on his Mustang there was a special tool you needed to get the caliper pads to move make to install new pads ???

Please advise and who is best source fro hawk pads ??

Nothing special. If you've done the fronts on a C5, the rears are no more complicated. It helps to have a large C clamp to compress the pistons into the caliper (put the clamp on the front pad and the flat spot on the rear of the caliper). Don't forget to locktite the caliper bolts. BTW, unless you're racing the car, ceramic pads are my recommendation.

Hi
For Hawk pads and tech support See Vette Brake ad at top of forum.
They are for real

Haven't work on a Vette with ABS, but other cars require that you open the bleed screws on the calipers before you push the pistons back home. Sending brake fluid and crud backwards through the ABS valving can be a very bad thing. Besides the displaced fluid means that some new fluid will have to be added and since changing brake fluid is not a common maintainence these days, new fluid don't hurt.
