Quick question. I just took the hardtop off for the first time since we have owned the car. The rear deck releases on the drivers side but not on the passenger side. It sounds like the solenoid is working, but does not release. The book says there is a manual release, but with the soft top down I cant seem to find it with my big hands. Is there a secret to getting them to release? Heeelllppp!!!! Thanks...

It sounds like the one side may be just out of adjustment. Press down on that side and hit a release button again. Sometimes excessive pressure when tightening that vertical bolt on the hardtop bracket will force the hardtop down on the decklid and may cause the lock to bind.

The manual decklid release is on the driver's side between the shoulder belt tower and the latch. Feel behind the latch for a short plastic lever about 2" long.

Thank you for the reply. I messed around trying several different things. Finally got my wife with her small hands to help. She could get to the manual latch and got it open for me. Once I had the top out of the way, I looked things ocer and the latch seems to work fine. We have had the top up and down several times and have had no problem. Am wondering if it had just gotten stuck from inactivity. Anyway, worrks fine. Thanks for the help.
