Hey guys, I need your help. My rear defroster on my 93 coupe doesn't work. The green light over the switch (dash) comes on when I push it, but no heat to the back window. I checked the fuse and I don't see any broken wires anywhere around the hatchback. Any ideas?

Rear Defroster

Have you checked for 12v at the two wire leads attached to the window? I had two vehicles (neither a Corvette) that had voltage to the connector but not the window. The connector cover plastic had melted just a little and was insullating the push-on connector. Also the wire tends to break inside the insullation near either end of the two visible wires leading to the window.
The defogger is usually fed through a circuit breaker. I should be in the fuse panel, have an aluminum housing, about 1/4"X3/4"X3/4"
I've had several bad ones.

I had the same issue as jmccloud. As i was looking for a break in the metal on the window, saw smoke from behind the driver seat head rest. Since i was doing this at night, i easily saw it against the little light there. I looked and the plug that connects the rear defroster to the window strut was buring. I quickly turned off my car. Completely melted the metal electrode part to the plug. The passenger side plug was all gone too. I thought I smelled buring plastic the past yew days.
