So I had my corvette in for service about 3 weeks ago, long story short, they indicated that the rear differential was leaking on the left side ( Common problem ) and that it needed to be replaced. I told them to go ahead and do the work and when the replaced the fluid for the differential, they forgot to add the friction modifier. I drove for about 150 miles without the friction modifier. Does anyone think this will do long term damage to the differential? The car has 30K miles on it and it's an 01' convertible. After I was able to convince them that there was something wrong and actually ask them point blank if they added the friction modifier, they admitted that they forgot to add it. Ugh! :ugh And this was a Chevy dealer with Corvette specialist. Doesn't anyone do good work anymore?

I have the same leak and was curious how long it took to fix and what was the final cost??

Well I wish I could tell you. I also had 2 oil pan leaks as well as the differential leak and they bundled all of the labor in one spot. From what I understand, a bulk of the labor that they quoted was for the oil pan leaks and it was a total of $1100 in labor. I can't say for sure because they didn't charge me for the friction modifier either, because I had to bring it back twice and tell them the source of the problem. Hopefully someone else with the same leak can post what it cost them. Sorry.
