rear end leaking

how hard of a job to put a new front seal in a 86 vette's rear end? i see the exhust rear Y-pipe has to come off and of course the drive shaft too, good time for new u-joints. but the seal i am not sure of?

i can't the limited slip gear oil, so its thicker now then most likely the stuff GM put in 19 years ago, so maybe i'll get lucky and the new stuff will stay in longer?? yeah right!! why don't people change this stuff, its cheap to do and not hard???
