realizing this may be a stupid question.....could I put my friends old stock 3.43 rear gears from his 95 camaro on my 1986 corvette? I know that his has a solid rear axle with a round pumpkin and mine in independant rear suspension with a square pumpkin....is it still possible to do the switch?

no. you will need gears made for a dana rear end. im not sure if you have a dana 36 or dana 44, i think it depends if its an auto or stick. but i had to get specific gears for my dana 36. i went from 3.07's to 3.73's and it was just what the doctor ordered.

yeah mine is an automatic and it currently has 2.59 rear gears...so I deff. wanna get somethin else in there

You need to buy Danna gears for a D36
I just changed my D44 Jeg's price was $336;00 for Richmond gears
I got genuine danna gears from Tom's Differentials for $175.00
