I'm replacing a rear hub assy on the 96. The book says its a torx head. Can anyone tell me what size torx? I've tried, but there is no way I can see in there.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. That was it. I got it changed yesterday. about 3 hours total. Old bearing fell to pieces in my hand when it was removed from the spindle. Looks like I changed it just in time. I've seen cars completely lose a wheel and do a lot of damage.

Thanks again for the info. Saved me some time not having to fiddle around finding the righ size torx 6 inches deep inside a cavity.

Torx Schmorx

Thanks- This helps me as well.

While I'm unbolting it, forgive me if I mutter "Why couldn't they just use a hex (allen) bolt. I already had a set of hex key sockets.

Do you need to grease the bearing or is it "permanently lubricated?"

Thanks!

No lube.....its a sealed bearing.....

Thanks! It seems strange not to put a big glob of grease on a wheel bearing.
That's progress, I guess.
