Rear License Plate Install

Hi:

New guy here, just picked up an '04 6 Speed roadster. Third vette, previous ones C3 and C4, wow, what a difference. I was going back and forth betweem C6 and C5, decided I liked the interior on the C5 better, sacraficing the HP.

I am a little embarrassed though, I can't figure out how to get the rear license plate into the holder? It is slotted top and bottom but you can't slide the plate in from the top or bottom, can anyone help?

When I got "Abby" our 2003 I noticed the rear plate fit completely different than any of the other Corvettes I've owned. :W

On our's I figured out that there was a small plastic frame around the plate enclosure. It pops out then the plate went into the proper position and the plastic frame popped back in place, no screws or other mounting hardware was required :eek

Seems to be right, it hasn't fallen off or moved around in the year and half we've had her

If I did it wrong, then I too will learn something new today

Hey thanks Yoda, so the frame just gets pulled off and then snaps back in? I thought that might be what you needed to do but iwas afraid I would break it.

Just those little slots, one on each side and the frame just pops out.

Hey guys! I've got 4 license plate screws holding my rear license plate to the rear fascia and then I snapped the plastic frame back into place. This way makes it harder for any theft of your rear plate.

Oh yeah (I'm editing) the pop in fasteners for the screws were there when I bought the car.
