my 74 sits too high in the rear. what is the correct ride height? what is the average gap between the fender and tire?

Design suspension ride height is the difference between the two measurements of inner strut rod bolt center to ground and outer strut rod bolt center to ground - the dimensions are shown in the Assembly Manual in UPC 4. This method is used so it's completely independent of tire size.

With 225-70-15 tires about 2 inches is about stock between the top of the tire and the rear fender.

lc is that 2 inch gap consistant with the front wheel gap also? thank you for responding to the question

Robin

The front is about the same but more people change the rears more often and lots of replacement springs cause the rear to set high. Lyle

Robin,
My 74 also has 225/70 tires and runs 2 inches front and rear.
Looks level to me!

well, looks like i'll be ordering a set of extra long spring bolts to get the rear end down where it should be.... i really appreciate the input..
