Help! Rear speaker removal

The rear speakers on my '81 sound lousy - need to replace them. I can't figure out how they come out.

AIM shows the install. If memory serves, the plastic carpeted grilles have trim screws. Speakers are in mounts behind the grilles.

Look for the trim screws, the speaker is mounted to the grill. I just changed those "lousy" speakers with Kenwoods that I got from Rik's Corvettes in North Carolina. No modification needed. Great sound ! much better. If your a big guy it is a little tight back there but it is worth it.:cool

You have to hunt for the screws in the carpet on the covers. just be sure the new speaker magnets will fit in the holes :W. If all else fails, you can always place one of these in your '81 like I did .
