What's the correct layout of rear storage compartments for my car? It has three - the jack compartment, the center compartment, and the battery compartment - but I've seen some things saying it should only have two (the battery and a single, wide storage compartment).

Thanks,
Joe

My 82 has two, battery behind the driver and large storage.

The 79 Corvette can have either a 2 or 3 compartment rear storage area. Check either the Ecklers 2002 Spring/Summer catalog or the Paddock Corvette 2002 catalog, they both have a good picture of each application, showing the layout from 68 to 79 and 79 to 82, with 2 possible options for 79.

rear compartments

Books say early 79s had three compartments Only they never tell you what early really means. So two or three could be the right # for your car:xmas

mdenno is right it depends on when your car was built.
the wi ncrs web site has a birthday calendar, enter your vin and it spits out your build date. kinda cool.

And if you're looking to purchase a new set try Dewitt's as I believe they manufacture them for the vendors. They are also helpful & pleasant to deal with.

MY 72 HAS THREE. FIRST ONE WHERE THE JACK IS SUPPOSED TO BE HAS A CD CHANGER, SECOND IS JUST STORAGE AND THIRD IS THE BATTERY.

Thanks for the info. I'll track down the correct compartment liner (the one I ended up with is the wider unit, and it won't fit in).
