I have a 1980 Corvette that had a small engine bay fire. Wasn't a really big fire and didn’t burn for long but fire combined with the fire extinguisher and been seating for a while now has pretty much ruined any hope for a easy fix.

If i can I'm try to fix the engine that in it but I don't know if its salvageable. As soon as I get time I'm take out and tear the engine down.

If my engine is not salvageable then what would be the best engine to go with? It has a 350 in it with a Turbo 350 trans. I'd like to go with a lq9 with carb top or maybe a LS motor with a carb top.

Has anyone here gone with a lq9 or maybe a LS motor? Id like to stick with the turbo 350 trans too if all possible.

I'm trying to get more hp with less engine weight but be able to aford to drive it when ever I want without having to do alot of modding.
