Does anyone know what causes the red exclamation light on the dash to come on under heavy acceleration? Doesn't seem to be affecting anything when it turns on, no codes set. Light goes off immediately when the load decreases.

strider; Hear you guys are getting snow out there tonight! Will help with the fires...

Post your year of vette so that the guys know which page we're on...

Sorry, I have a 94 LT1.

And this is Vancouver, just north of Seattle. No snow till maybe January.

The one I get is usually a reflection of the police cars lights that's chasing me.:eek

A red ! mark would tend to indicate a warning. As you say it happens under heavy acceleration I would guess it has something to do with traction loss? I don't think mine has this light...

This light is in the right hand bottom corner, if the light has never turned on, you have to get the sunlight just right to see that it is an ! exclamation mark in a circle. I also see it under a heavy load on the engine as when climbing a step grade like a back road on a mountain. Traction does not seem to be a problem at the time of the light and the asr light shows me that whenever I do loose traction. I am convinced that this is definately something to do with the performance in the engine, or that some sensor is not working correctly.

I have a 93 and used to get an ABS and ASR light under a load. Found out this was a low reservoir, brake fluid. I guess the fluid shifted enough to trip the sensor...might want to check this out.

Thanks for the update. I did have to have the vaccuum booster serviced last year. I found that the brakes where set as responsive as possible( ie, no play ). I had them adjusted this way because with my size 13's I intermittently would catch the brake and the gas at the same time. Adjusted the pintle on the vaccuum booster for a small amount of play, and not more problems.

Thanks again.
