removing cats...

What are the pros and cons of removing cats on a c5?

I will be installing off-road x-pipe and o2 sims.:confused

Mine are gutted, very little performance or hp to be gained in my opinion. Louder. O2 sims on mine. My state does not do emissions checking. IMHO not worth it.
