Removing joint compound

Hey guys I need more help. The previous owner of my car (my grandfather yes i know it was stupid and it hurts me to admit it) was a fan of using joint compound to "seal leaks" therefore I have been using goo gone to remove it along with plastic scrapers. Would someone be kind enough to take a picture of the top of there 79 with the T-top off so I can tell when I am done and what it should look like. Thanks

Also I will be replacing the seals on the T-tops any tips
