1982 Silver Coupe (Sold!), New C5 in 3 weeks!
Hi,
I have a question regarding the Camber adjustment cam that is located near the rear axle on a 1982 Corvette. I need to remove this cam and replace with a new one. I've got the part, I just need to fit it. I haven't removed the old cam adjuster yet as I need to clarify how easy this job will be.

So, has anyone done this before, and what do I need to do in order to replace this part. Plus, is it easy to do, or is the suspension likely to make this impossible to get back in once the cam is removed?

Thanks
Dazza

I've only done this on pre-1980 cars with the old style suspension but it should be the same for your's.
It's all real straight forward, just nuts and bolts, until you start to put everything back together. When you try to install the lower control rod you'll discover that the rod shrank, NOT. You need someone to push the lower part of the tire in while you attach the rod. If you have removed the tire it may be easiest to install it rather than trying to push the brake rotor enough to connect the rod.
Drive the car around a bit to settle the suspension and look at your camber. Make adjustments and drive it around again ect...

The hardest part was removing the shock mount tapped it out with a center punch ..

Jack up car remove tire,I also put a jack stand under the spring to detenshion it not really nessary. remove nut on the cam bolt by the rearend push or knock out the bolt , now the cam bar will drop at one end remove shock mount replace cam and reinstall .Doing diff end first. then ajust camber as mentioned in above reply
I would remove spare tire and carrier muck easier that way
