Looking to rent a trailer to haul my corvette...I reside in the Wilmington, De., West Chester, PA. area. Any help would be appreciated. Hard to locate either a company to haul your car or to find a trailer yourself. I'm stuck.

:w Andy,

Have you checked with U-Haul, Budget or Pensky?

We are planning a move within the next month or so and I've found trailer rentals at all the above mentioned companies, Budget being the lowest priced. They all require a class II hitch ;) before you can rent one.

Andy, i actually rented one in PA, from a local Building Contractor Equipment/Tool rental place. U-Haul wanted to charge me an insane amount (because of the location we went). The Trailer itself was meant for a small backhoe, but hey.. It was a pretty nice trailer. And Bud is right, have to have a class-II hitch. I'd check the local tool rental places too (the bigger ones that have machinerie)..

U-Haul does in fact have trailers that are low profile enough to get a vette on it without damage to your body. If your local U-Haul doesnt currently have one, they can have one brought in.

my son rented a low profile, drive on, flatbed trailor to move his honda from south florida to denver, so i know at least u-haul rents them. coming from a populated area, you shouldn't have any problem finding one i would think.

good luck

U-Haul is what I used ,but your area has alot to do with price they wanted $800 from St Louis to Louisiana. I rented the trailer in Louisiana pulled it up and back two days $200. Pulled really well

Andy,
I rented a U-Haul 'auto transport' to bring mine home from Maryland, One day rental returned to the same place was like $62 with insurance. One thing, we BACKED the car on the trailer so you as not to ding up the air dam under the front bumper, also easier to strap down. Glad I wasn't driving as I had my eyes in the mirror for 4 hours! Good luck and hope to see you there in August.
