Replacement overdrive, need advice

Any tips or trick to removing and installing a 4+3 overdrive?

I visited S&K speed, they are local to me here. Brian (owner) knows the 4+3 Nash overdrive,and is probably the best rebuilder of these trasmissions anywhere. You can search this forum for removal tips. Just remember the tranny/overdrive weighs over 130lbs! your looking at about $1600 + shipping, that price includes a core charge, if the OD "Core" is good you get money back.

The OD I'm installing was just rebuilt by SK. I agree Brian is great to work with. But its time to take the old one out and install the new one and am looking for the expeience I don't yet have. Searched the threads but didn't fond specifics. I'll try again but if someone has a shortcut or link I'd appreciate it.

I'm pretty sure I can get the geast out OK but am concerned about rejoining the OD to the tranny correctly.

If you remove the dist only, it allows you to angle the engine/ trans down enough so reaching the top bellhousing bolts over the trans is easy
