Well before cruisefest comes around, I figured I should replace my damaged spoiler. I think the center section is damaged, however the outer sections are scratched a bit. Well has anyone replaced this before? I could use some suggestions, if you have them. Tried a search, but came up empty.

Are you talking about the air dam underneath that comes off in three pieces ?

I know the center in not available from Chevy.

Replace them with stock pieces -- you're just gonna tear 'em up again. No need to get fancy or anything. ;)

By the way, it's a piece 'o cake. It's pretty much self-explanatory. :CAC

Thanks JonM!

Good website. they had the center deflector and lower baffle I was looking for and were the cheapest I've seen yet.
Sad to say I too have torn my center deflector off. I'm sure it won't be the last time.

I replaced mine and it took about 30-45 minutes. It is very easy and self explanatory.
I back into parking spots if possible to prevent it from getting all ripped up again.

You are only going to tear them up if you are a idiot and run over stuff. It is a pretty big part in the cooling affect for the engine bay on the L98, so I would definetly replace them.

Well, the catalogs have some reproduction pars for 39 bucks. I think I will replace them with that. How hard are the screws to get too. In Mid america they sell new hardware, because they say that most fasteners will twist off. Didn't know about that:confused

and NO I am not an idiot that runs over stuff. It is from the high rates of speed I drive at.

The hardware depends on how corroded they are. Mine weren't bad at all. A couple were a little tough. Mine had small bolts with nuts on the back, so a wratchet and wrench made it pretty easy.

I put a push-in retainer like the ones holding the bottom of the door panels where the air dam pieces overlap. Makes it into one and looks great.

I wish there was a plastic center piece with a scoop made into it. Like a plastic Big Mouth. Another winner idea.

Thanks, for the info. When I start doing it, hopefully sometime next month, I am sure I will check back with you all.

I did it, and I'm not a mechanic.
I used a vise grip to hold the bolts in place, while I wrenched it from the other side.
Its a fun job :beer

Front Spoiler Replacement

I bought the three sections from Ecklers and installed them. Fairly easy. The car looks much better them.

I replaced the originals on my 86 Vette...not too bad a job, but some of the bolts are hrd to get to....I opeted to use the cheapest aftermarket I could find...I think Mid America had a sale.

THe darn car sits so low that I put the new set on the car on Sunday, and scraped them first thing Monday morning leaving the parking lot of my kid's school...The main thing is to make sure you are getting air directed toward the radiator....

Double check

Double check the height of the spoiler.....some of the Pace Cars came with a 4" spoiler vs. 3 1/4 normal....Mine has a 4" spoiler under the front
