OK,so I take the door panel off, remove the 2 nuts off the handle and remove the linkage rod. That should be all I need to do to remove the handle right? Well it moves but will not come out. Is there something else that I am missing?

Are you sure that it's not just hung up on the hole in the fiberglass? I don't remember anything holding it in besides the two nuts.

I have no idea what's holding the thing in there. I can't see anything but the handle will come up about 1/8th of an inch out of the door hole and that's it. I have never seen anything like it.

Update. The pin that goes through the handle (the flapper part) had worked it's way forward and was keeping the handle from coming out. I took a small screw driver and was able to get the pin back into position and the handle came right out.
