plug wires

How difficult is it to correctly replace the spark plug wires on an LT-1? I'm considering having this done, but it's going to cost me about $400. I hear theres a lot of labor involved.

While I think $400 maybe alittle high, dealing with that ignition sheilding can be hell.

Plan on taking your time and wear a tight fitting glove or your hands will be covered in cuts.

Unless your showing the car I'd just take that sheilding off and wax it up and put it into storage. Put it back on when you have to pull the motor some day down the road.

gwall, you'd be earning every penny!

Just my opinion,

Rick

Well, I changed the wires over the weekend. It took me about 12 hours roughly...but I also did some cleaning... polished the plug shields, degreased around the block...I also had to drop the starter to get easy access on the right hand side. Also took lots of pics along the way. Reinstalling the shielding and running the wire correctly was the biggest PITA. I did all this lying on my back, feels like I got a sunburn. I figure next time, I could cut my time to 4 hours.
