Black on Black 2000 C5
let me ask the question in another way. How do you change the power steering hose on a 2000 C5?
  • :mad
OK LETS DO THIS AGAIN. How do you take the power steering hose off of the power steering pump? Do you have to remove the pump from its mounting bracket to gain access to the nut that holds the line onto the pump? Is there a way to get the hose off of the pump with out removing it from vehicle? What size is the nut? I have laid under this vehicle with a long 3/8 drive extension with an 18mm "Crows Foot" & can not get onto the nut holding the hose into pump. Can some one please write me back with a step by step procedure on how you get this line off & replace it with a new unit. I do not want to take it to the dealer but it is looking like I may have to.
  • Thank you for any help I can get.

Not sure what the C4 FSM says, but here is all the C5 FSM says:

Basically just remove the hose and replace. Then add fluid and bleed the system by starting the engine and letting the fluid get warm and turning the steering wheel to the left and right. While doing this DO NOT TURN THE WHEEL TO THE STOPS!!!!

Let me know if you have any other questions.
