Looking for (radio) Stereo Indicator bulb number from owner's manual...

Can anyone look in the back of your owner's manual and check which bulb they list for the Stereo Indicator bulb? In fact I'd like to verify it for 'each' of these 3 years if possible.

There should be a list of all bulbs near the back of the owner's manual. I'm having a VERY hard time finding a replacement stereo indicator bulb and I want to verify which bulb they list for each of these years. So far dealer, Lectric Limited, various bulb specialty places and electronics suppliers haven't panned out. I can't even find a GM part# either.

thank you

I was just looking at that page but sorry to say I left the manual at home. I will be happy to look it up when I get home and let you know.

Bulbs

The radio dial bulb is a Number 564, the stereo indicator bulb calls for a Drake 66 these numbers are for a 76 vette. I have no idea where to get them from perhaps Chevrolet. Anyhow thats what the book calls for.

Thanks guys,

Tom that's interesting. The radio I have apart that I pulled the bulb from says (on bulb):

"_RAKE X 14V 65m_"
There is some solder on the edges so I put "_" where I can't read. From what you posted I now know it likely says: "DRAKE X 14V 65mW".

The owner's manual actually calls it's 'trade name' "DRAKE 66"??? Weird - never heard of it but it helps even if googling it yields nothing. I'd be curious if '74/5 manuals are same.

BTW does it list the watts?

thanks,

PS: FYI the radio 'dial' bulb on this radio was a common standard 1893 - not sure how different that is from the 564 you mentioned but the 1893 is the bulb called for in earlier C3 radio dials according to older owner's manuals.

75 Vette Stereo Indicator 2182 0.1 candle power
Radio dial 1893 2 candle power

Thanks Joe!

OK so for Stereo Indicator bulb I have?
1974: ?
1975: 2182
1976: DRAKE66

I didn't hear anything re 1974 however I know that earlier C3s also used a 2182 so I think it's safe to figure that 1974 was a 2182 bulb.

What's weird is this: The same stereo radio (part#) was used from 1974-1976. Also this 'DRAKE66' bulb is something nobody has heard of - while it was once a valid bulb - it appears to be a 'dead-end' in 2004. :-( If I could only find a GM part# for the DRAKE 66 I bet there's probably a few laying around collecting dust somewhere but the 1976 Corvette Stereo Indicator Bulb PART# has been a dead end too. :-(

The '77 Stereo was a totally different unit since they switched to the standard 'corporate' Delco radios that year. However I would be curious to hear what the 1977 owner's manual lists for a Stereo Indicator bulb... Anybody?

thanks for the info
