Hello Everyone, I'm in the process of trying to locate a shop in the south east (Georgia/Alabama/Florida North) that has a good reputation for doing interior, engine rebuild and rear suspension work along with steering problems. I have a good lead for a shop but they can't start work until late spring or early summer and that's when I want to be driving the car. I wanted to get it in the shop in January for these repairs.

Any ideas ?

Thanks

:w Wiley,

We have a member here at CAC that just moved into his new shop. Paintdaddy The only thing I personally know about him is that he has restored GTO's Chevelles, Corvettes and just recently painted Bob Chadwicks 76 Corvette.

If he doesn't do the kind of restorations you want maybe he can suggest a good shop for the work ;)

I'm not sure how far you are from Huntsville, AL but you can check at Corvettes Unlimited. Zeke Jenkins has been restoring Vettes for almost his whole life. He founded the local club I use to be in (Valley Vettes). I know he's been working on restoring a 64 and a 66 for customers. I'd trust him with anything and he is very meticulous. He's trying to be semi-retired so I don't know if he could get to your car this winter but it's worth a check.

Alabama restoration shop

Try Waldensvettes.com in Fyffe, Alabama, north east part of the state, I've been to his shop and he is really good, very talented, Corvettes only and knows the difference. Phone is 256-638-8219 or 256-638-2571.
Good luck:

Thanks alltide......Believe it or not he is the first person I tried. He comes very highly recommended and he has very reasonable rates. He's so good, he does not have an opening until late spring or maybe early summer. I really would like to use him but I need to try and get the work completed during the cold months so I can have fun with it during the spring and summer. I would hate to schedule something with him and then find someone to do it now. My luck these days has not been good with local repair shops.

Thanks

Thanks Baldie88 and Rare81 for the info also. I met Bob and a few of the members 3 years ago during a run to Helen. A nice bunch of people. Had a great time and hope to do that again, once I get my car the way I want it.

I'm still looking for a shop. I've searched through the Corvette Trader and tried on line searches but just can't find anyone in the south east. I really like the Walden Vettes and Mr. Walden. Does anyone know of Corvette John, located in Valdosta, Ga. I had him do some work for me on my 77 a few years ago but I can't located him now. Is he still in business? Also, what can anyone tell me about the shop located in Atlanta, at The Last Detail and Atlanta Corvettes?
Thanks

Last detail does good work.Dont know for sure but I think they do more late model vettes than older ones.I had them rebuild some trailing arms for me off the car .They were mechanically sound but lacked on the detail work.I dont know how far tifton is but Id be happy to see what you need done and work on trying to get it done by spring, just a thought.

Thanks Paintdaddy...Tifton is about 200 miles south of Atlanta on 75. I work out of Atlanta and travel each week to Atlanta and then on to other cities as needed. I would be interested in sending you the email I sent with pics to Waldens Vettes. He had very good prices but can't start the job until maybe May. I'll send you an email with pics and my wish list.
