Here is a picture taken yesterday.......My friend is restoring this 58 now.......Will post again when he is finished.......This car was bought new in late 57 and the owner drove it for four years. He then sold it to another, this person used it very little. He then parked it.It has been in an old barn ever since. My friend bought it a couple weeks ago. It is now running and he is doing all the body work, and painting it back to red and white........

All the parts are still with the car.

Looks like it is coming right along. What engine did he put in it?

Tom

It has a 350 in it now, but I did see another one on the stand when I was there. It also has a three speed in it.......but he is putting the four back into it. I will see what the other motor is and let you know.......

Good Lord, another barn car!!

All I've ever found in barns were junk, rusty tractors and more junk. I guess I'll have to keep looking.....

Same here Mac........This 58 was found by a friend of mine........I found a 56 T-Bird one time in South Carolinia. It had been sitting in a barn since 66. It belong to the ladys son, who was killed in Nam......I tryed several times during the next few years, but still NO.....:( :nono

I have a red and white 58. Do you realize the correct color for 58 is Signet red, not Roman red ? Signet red has an orange tint to it and kind of looks tomato juicy in the sun. All correct red interiors are actually signet red. Alot of people paint their 58 s the wrong color since they don't like the Signet red. Then the interior doesn't look the same color as the paint. I was in the same boat 7 years ago. I could paint it any color I wanted and chose red and white. If I had it to do over again I would have chosen black with sliver coves and the red interior. I have seen another car that color combo and it was beautiful. Much better than the red and white.

Good Luck !!!!

I wasn't crazy about Signet Red either, so I asked Al Knoch if they could give me '58 door panels and seat covers with '59 fabric. No problemo. A small extra charge (and no pebble grain, of course), but worth it for me.

I wound up painting it Bright Red instead of Roman Red (or Signet Red), incidently. I did stick with Snowcrest White for the coves.
