I have a stock points distributor...I am considering getting a rev limiter. I don't know much about them other than you can limit your RPM's. Last summer I was working on my car...I don't now what I did...and all of a sudden I heard the RPMS FLY! I think I got the accelerator stuck. Anyways, to prevent stupid mistakes & stupid shifts from over-revving my engine I'd like a little insurance. What do I need to do?

I'm not sure how strongly you fell about your points, but you can replace the points and get a rev limiter for about $65 with this:

You would still be able to keep your tach drive distributor. I really can't comment on how well this works, but I'm sure it is just as good as well tuned points or most other electronic conversions.
