My 01 coupe rides so low to the deck that I can't get a jack or ramps or almost anything under it when I need to raise to work on it. Is there a way to adjust the ride height? I am really surprised that I can make it over the reflector bumps along the center line of the road without hitting them.:confused

It's hard to believe you're having that much of a problem. Are you sure it isn't just the rubber air dam that's hitting? It sounds bad, but is completely harmless. It's hinged, so unless you run over something like a railroad tie, it won't cause damage. I never had a problem as long as I slowed for bumps and took them at an angle. As for working on it, you need a low-profile floor jack and ramp. I used the gray Rhino Ramps and drove up on a 1x6 board first.

Here's my car ... is yours lower?

If you still feel the need to raise it, follow these directions in reverse:

No it is not lowered. The front air dam does scrape frequently but is hinged so not problem. What I worry about is something under the car hanging up on something. I would like to raise it up an inch or so if it doesn't require any significant modification to the suspension. I also have to use 2" X 12" boards cut with a ramp on them to get it up high enougn to use the same ramps but don't have a low profile jack.

Nice car and even nicer plane.

Even at stock height I had to drive up on 2" blocks to get a regular floor jack under the front of the car. Now its lowered 1" I have to do the same at the rear.

Thanks for the info. I use block of 2" X 12" on all 4 corners to get a floor jack under it. I also use jacking pucks between the jack or lift and the jacking points. The article Mr. Lucky referenced was helpful. I had heard that the ride height was adjustable up and down but didn't know how to do it. My main interest is to keep the front air dam from scrapping so often.

I plan on putting it on my new lift and see what I can do with the stock setup. I am familiar with a transverse rear spring on my 65 Coupe, which was easy to raise up 1 1/2" with spacers at each end. I didn't know if that same trick would work on the C5.

Thanks:beer
