Question: Rim questions/ issues

Shop, Shop, Shop

Many factors have bumped these cars' parts into near-antique status and high prices.

Hence, I find I have to look many places to find reasonable pricing. Sometimes it is the online auction place; sometimes CL; but from the guy in IL who dismantles Vettes, I did okay and much better than the usual sources.

That's a tough one. The reason for the high price is three-fold:
1) the size is signifcantly different than the caps used from 84-87 and 91-on. Also they have built-in locks.
2) they only made these caps for two years - 88 and 89. In 90 the wheel changed slightly to allow the smaller center caps.
3. The cap is milled aluminum versus plastic with an aluminum covering as in the bulk of the C4 center caps.

So you're looking for a part that honestly the number of C4 production cars made was only around 70,000 units over two model years. In otherwords, a more specialized corvette wheel cap.

I bought a center cap for my 93 here Taber Corvette Parts

It was almost like new. They were very helpful and and I will go back to them as my needs arise for parts.
