C6.R #3 pulled off a late race pass on the Flying Lizards #45 Porsche to take third in the GT2 class.
An early full course caution with the overall race leader between the GT2 leading BMW's and the rest of the GT2 field pretty much ended any chance for everyone else in the GT2 class as both BMWs got to drive around the track and restart at the tail of the field - giving them basically a full lap on the rest of the field. There after, it was a pretty tight battle between the Flying Lizards Porsches, the Risi Ferrari and Corvette Racing for third place. The #45 Porsche appeared to have third locked up until a late race slip that allowed the #3 Corvette to get inside on a turn. The two cars bumped as the Porsche tried to stay on track and avoid the grass but that was all the #3 Vette needed to get ahead and stay there.
Now, to figure out a way to slow the BMWs down.
