I'm replacing my rocker channels on my 72 , and wondering since there is no metal floor pan like those on the 76 and up, where do you spot weld the rocker channels to after you bolt them down on the body mounts? Any info appreciated.

The rocker channels are welded to the base of the hinge pillar and the base of the lock pillar They are an integral part of the birdcage. They are not part of the fiberglass body.
Regards,
Alan

Alan- For the rocker channel, where is the hinge pillar located? Is this near the front pillar post, and back end of rockers?

The hinge pillar is the vertical box member that forms the front of the door opening that the door hinges are bolted to; they have flanges at the bottom where it's spot-welded to the horizontal surface of the sill (rocker channel). The lock pillar is similar, at the rear of the door opening (under the fiberglass that forms the finished body opening jamb surface).

81 shown, but others are similar. Hinge piller at the front; lock pillar at the rear.
