I know this should be a cake walk but I have 3 or 4 screws on the rocker panels that have the heads broken off. How do I get these old screws out? Also any pointers on instaling new padding and carpet?:confused :confused

Is the rocker panel off ? If so and there is alittle screw to get a hold of the soak it down with liquid wrech real good let it stand a few hours and get the ole vice grips and try it that way. which crews are broken? the ones on my 80 toward the ends have a nut on the back, in the middle then i think they are molded in the glass? i think one of the vendors make a repair kit for these too.

carpet, is fairly easy just hope it is warm when you are doing the job makes it easier to install, should already be premolded to fit just take your time.

I had the same problem. Since my car is far from stock, I decided to take advantage of the situation for a new look.

I used a punch and hammer to knock though what was left of the screws in the body panel. I then drilled it out and tapped the holes with 1/4x20 threads.

I went to the hardware store and bought some really cool stainless 1/4 x 20 alan head bolts. I then drilled the hole out a tade larger in the rocker panel. I attached the rocker panel with the new bolts for that wicked rough and ready industrial look of the alan head cap screw bolts. It looks awesome and fixed both problems at once.

The tap, bolts, drill, etc. put the whole modification under $30.
