rocker panels

Just checkin to see if anone has tried putting a set of the aluminum rocker panels from a 78-79 on a 80 - 82 ?? I have the 81 with the all balck rocker pannels. I want to go with the aluminum if they will fit correctly. i know mine are aluminum underneight, but one is dented and I dont want to bother with a refinish. Hoping i can just grab a new set for 78-79.

Let me know if this one has been done before.

I did it. They are a bolt on but are a little bit longer than the stock ones on the front as you can see here:

Not a real problem though. I replaced them because mine were dented. You CAN remove the paint from your originals and polish them, they're the same underneath
