- Proud poppa to a beautiful 1988 Callaway Corvette
Hello again everyone!
Was in Orlando Saturday having a look at SurfnSun's car. Let me tell you, that thing is an absolute BEAST!! The power came on so smooth and had me pressed so far back in the seat, I didn't dare check to see how fast we were travelling. Heck, my cheeks (the ones on my face) were even beginning to peel back a little.
Anyway, getting back to the subject at hand...
Whilst in Orlando, my friend and I had the opportunity to stop and see Mr. Judsky and all of his wonderful cars. Well, as everyone knows, he has an 88 B2K convertible with the Aerobody kit and an automatic transmission. If you haven't had the opportunity to see it or had someone give a brief description of it, that's what I'm here for. Here goes:
The car is very straight with nice fit and finish and suffers from only minor cosmetic issues. There is a small scratch on the hood on the passenger's side that could probably be buffed out, the engine bay is in desperate need of a detailing, but the intake is probably going to need to be refinished somehow since it does have several chips in the "crinkle coat." The wire screen at the base of the windshield under the windshield wiper arm on the driver's side is missing (don't know if that is a Callaway modification or what, but doesn't seem to be) and will need to be replaced. Not sure about the exhaust on the car, but it doesn't appear to be stock... The tips resemble LT1 tips and have CALLAWAY stamped on them, but not being familiar with all of the changes that went on in the build sequence, I can't say whether or not they are aftermarket. The tires appear to be orginal, but have begun to dry rot and crack, so of course that would need to be addressed.
Now for the disclaimer... I am not a notoriously observant person and I don't know Callaways like I should, so there may have been something major that my friend and I didn't pick up on, but with it being a Roger's car, I highly doubt there would be anything fundamentally wrong with it.
Hope this might be of some use to anyone looking for an Aerobody Callaway. You can see the ad here. Take care guys.
