Is it hard to replace the rubber trim around FRC rear window? When the dealer prepped my Z06 they burnt it with a buffer in a spot. It took me a few weeks before I even noticed it and if I didn't tell you you probably wouldn't see it but it bugs me. I also have some of the stuff they prep the car with that I cannot get off easily without removing this trim. It looks like it just pulls off and snaps back in easily. Any idea on price of this piece?

Nobody has removed/replaced this trim or a back window?

AgentF1, be patient. Sometimes specialized maintenance issues require a little longer to reach their target audience.

I don't have any problems with my rear window seal, but I have looked at it closely before. It appears to be the type that is inserted into the crack between the glass and the body and is installed using a hand roller. You might just stop by an auto glass company and comfirm this, but I'm fairly certain it is an easy replace. HTH

Then again if you don't do it right you might end up with water in the back.. If your not real happy with it, I would go to a glass shop and let them do it.

just my 0.02 worth

Isn't the window sealed similiar to a windshield with some type urethane and thi black rubber trim I am talking about just for looks? It does not seem like it does anything in the way of preventing water from getting in the car the way it moves and get water under it when washing the vehicle. I am surprised more people have not removed or replaced this part on a Z06.
