I finally had the cracked windshield removed from my '77. The frame is in great shape for it's age, but has a few areas with surface rust. All the moulding clips are in good shape as well. I plan on power wire brushing the frame to metal and prime and paint the frame. Has anyone used a good "rust inhibitor" product that can be painted over? Anyone have any tips for this project?

POR15 works great but if you clean to clean bare metal use the bare metal prep or it wont stick. Actually POR15 likes the rust as it uses it to bond the steel like deaths grip!!!

not sure what you are going to top coat it with or if this will be hidden by trim moulding but i like rustoleum rusty metal primer...not hi tech but works well....
