For those of you who, like myself, can not live without satellite radio where have you mounted both the unit and antennas on your Vette?

Pictures would greatly help with my installation as well......

Thanks,
Kyle

Sat Radio

I have a Pioneer INNO receiver that I use in my 95 coupe. I mounted the radio and it's mount in the hole where the passenger side power seat control would be if I had one. Mine only has driver power seat. It fits nicely there. I stuck the antenna on the rear panel that covers the rear cargo cover, next to the handle for the roof panel lock.
Because of the new Fed regulation on wirless transmission the FM modulator portion of the XM radio is worthless, so if it is a newer XM reciever don't count on using the FM wireless modulator successfully. I had to use the cassette adapter in order to get good signal to the stock radio. This set up works well and by routing the wire for the cassette adapter under the drink holder it only has a short section of wire showing to the cassette opening.
I have thought about and am researching an aftermarket radio. With this I could use an aux. input in the back of the radio for the RCA connector cable that comes with the cradle to get the signal from the XM receiver cradle to the radio thus eliminating visable wires. One step better with an aftermarket radio installation would be to use a non-portable XM receiver so there would not be anything to mount in view and the radio( sat ready) would control the channel selection. Crutchfield.com has good options for all of that. If you want pictures of my set up let me know and I will take some and send them to you.

several years ago I installed a Delphi SkyFy2 in the wife's 01 GMC Sierra. Using the FM modulator reception is great. Not so much with a second unit in my 99 Vette. No matter where I placed the antenna the reception from the SkyFy2 to the factory radio was very poor. I had to go the cassette adapter route. With a vent mount only a couple of inches of cord is visible.
