Both the autoextremist.com and speedtv.com are speculating that Roger Penske will take the Saturn Aura into Sprint Cup racing once Roger Penske has full ownership of Saturn.

Once Saturn if out from under GM. Saturn could make a bid to enter Sprint Cup. Since all the cars are the same thanks to the COT, a set of Saturn Aura stickers and an approved motor and it could be done.

Besides, Penske may need to look for a different brand to race in NASCAR if Fiat decides not to continue in racing with Dodge. Except for Fiat's 'liason' with Ferrari, Fiat doesn't appear to be racing anywhere.

IMHO Who cares?

COT has ruined NASCAR since as tuna stated all he needs is a set of decals however will it be a GM engine or a "saturn" engine? It does not matter since whatever they use it is old, push rod V8 technology with a carb. Stupid!

It would be a bigger deal if you had an actual "saturn" powered car taking on a honda powered car in the IRL and racing at indy. At least they use technology in this decade.

If it was not for the great drivers, NASCAR would be done. I see no benefit if I were building cars to compete in NASCAR.

If they want to make it cost effective, have each car company get thier best engine, put it in the dumb azz COT and run them. Too slow? Build it better. cant get the milage? too bad, better do more R&D. nascar is a waste. :puke

Speaking as a member of media, there is a big difference between "reporting" and "speculating".

My guess is, if anything happens on this front at all, nothing will happen until Penske Racing's contract with Chrysler is concluded. It's unknown if the government-mandated "bankrupcy" rendered Penske's contracts with Chrysler invalid or not but if not, my guess is he'll finish off his obligations there before he races a Saturn.
