Seat back adjustment?

I have installed a set of seats from a 79 in my 77 - I like the seats, but the seat backs lay back just a little too far for my taste. Are there any add-on bumpers that allow for the seat back adjustment?

Hello,

I added about 3/8" in Large washers under the seat in the passager compartment which raise the back of the seat up to make it more comfortable, at least for me ;) I would think the 79 seats are very similar to my 81's seats.. I've seen people build little clips that fit between top and bottom of the back of the seat. I've even seen people use a small towel and fold it several times and lay it between the top and the bottom of the back of the seat.

Good Luck and enjoy the :Steer

I did a combination of two things - I took a 2 foot piece of 3/8 fuel line and split one side lengthwise, and then placed it on the back of the bottom seat shell. I also placed 1/2" spacers under both of the rear seat attachment points. Together, this changed the seat back angle to where I wanted them, without losing too much headroom.

thanks Mike, i didn't think about putting something between the seat halves. being vertically challenged, i'd like to be abit more upright, especially when my taller hood gets painted.
btw,, are you going for a ride in the boat with no windows soon?

I just got back from one, my next one isn't until after Mother's Day. I know what you mean about the vertically challenged part - although it helps on submarines!

Mike, on your boat my height would be great! but those knee-knockers would kill me for sure. and i am sure for laughs i'd get assigned the upper berth.
which boat do you sail on?(or is that in?) . CQRT sent me some beautiful pictures from the USS Honolulu.

robin...any depth past 3 ft and i get nervous.

I work for ADM Cassias, Commander, Submarine Group 10 - so I get to ride any of the Trident Submarines here on the east coast. That means I spent 2-3 days per month evaluating the crews, rathar than being gone 80 days at a time like I used to!

Mike

And yes, you would be nervous on these - you get more than 3 feet under water when they are tied up next to the pier (36 feet in some spots). If you are ever in Kings Bay (about 30 minutes north of Jacksonville, FL) give me a call, and I'll take you on one.

Mike, you got a deal. we like to go to Savannah as much as possible. it's our getaway from the tourist stuff. allways stop at the welcome center there and get a new map and check out the B&B's up that way.
if you get this way . i'll give you the $5 backstage tour of Disney world.

best to you

robin

p.s. maybe gas prices will be better by the fall. we like to go riding outside of Savannah, but it's getting to the hot part of the year..
