I have a question about the seat belt cinch. I have read the manual and tried it out several time but i dont notice a difference. Is the belt supposed to "lock" in place holding you firmly to the seat, not strentching? Could the mechanism be broken is some way in my car?

Does anyone else have or heard of this issue?

John

Never tried the cinch, I'll try it on the way to work tomorrow and let you know, unless someones already answered by the time I get home.

I use the cinch all the time.
It keeps the seatbelt from loosening once you
press the cinch button, but you can still tighten it further.
I find it keeps me more securely in position.
Usually the seatbelt will allow slow loosening to permit reaching for something,
the cinch prevents this.

Nevermind, it works. I noticed that you have to puch it several times, to "rachet" down on your lap. I noticed that it did nothing for the shoulder part of the seat belt. That was what made me think it was not working. Is there a way to "lock" that, as that is the part of the seat belt i wanted cinched. John

Ahhhhh! I thought mine was bust to!! I didn't even try to rachet. Im going to try that next time Im at my car hehehe.

1984 "Cinch"

A few years back, Chevy had a recall on the 1984 Corvette "Cinch", you might want to check it out with your local dealer - the recall was free 2 years ago . . .

Good Luck

My belt locked (the lap restraint) and now I can't get it to retract or stretch, thus, I can't wear the seatbelt. Is there a lever or something to make it retract, or is it broken? Thanks for any info!

I don't have an answer for you, perhaps others will reply to you!

Or start a new thread on your subject?

Sorry!

The inertial reel may be stuck. Sometimes whacking the lower part of the side panel behind the door hard will free it up.

On my 1988, the cinch also only locks the lap belt. Is it supposed to lock the shoulder belt as well?
I would prefer it did. As I like the tight (Being one with the car) feeling.......

Greg.
