Help!
I cant get the seat belts out of my 68. Every diagram shows removal of a nut on the bottom, but the nut looks attached to the frame - is it just painted over? any tips? Thanks.

Hey welcome to the forum! The nut is there but alot of times they are covered in crud and undercoating. Also, they are kinda up inside a hole.:w

On my '72........

Remove the pass thru shoulder belt with a hair dryer.

Unbolt seat from the floor. The "nuts" are welded in place, so unbolt from inside the car. 1/2" box wrench for the front two, and 1/2" socket for the back two.

Peel back carpet.

There is a black plastic cover over the seat belt retractor. It is removed with a nut driver, or small socket set. 4 self tapping screws like things.

You may need to rip a little hole in the padding to find the 4th one. You can feel the point of the screws from under the car.

The seat belt is held in with a 13/16th " bolt. Same as the seats, you have to remove it from inside the car.
