I'm about to purchase a 1959 that has never had seat belts. I would like to add lap belts. Can anyone tell me the best place to get belts and (more importantly) how and where I install them?

thanks
Paul

Are you looking for NCRS correct belts or just something close that is functional?

I think just something functional for the time being. I don't plan on showing the car at this point. It's not a matching numbers car. The engine is from '66-'67.

So any ideas about a good source would be appreciated.
Also how to install them or more importantly where?
Thanks
Paul

PS: Is this something covered in any of the manuals?

Corvette Central has a good selection of "driver" seat belts, reasonably priced; I bought a set for my '57 several years ago when I restored it. The mounting provisions are already in your car; if someone has removed the underbody reinforcements for the inner and outer belt anchors, CC and Paragon have them.

I bought seat belts for my '62 from JC Whitney. Very similar in appearance to the stock seat belts. They won't fool anyone. But they don't stick out. Very plain and simple. Price was right too.
