Hey, I am so into redoing my interior I am now going to redo the seats, I am thinking about having it done by Corvette America or Corvette Central does anyone have any info. Its about $200 a seat but it seems like a big job and I would hate to mess up the new covers. Any thoughs?

When I did my seats, I cut liitle slits in the fabric with an X-acto knife at the attachment points and used Ty-Raps to cinch everything in place before I Hog Ringed them permanently. It made it a lot easier to get everything stretched and snugged up. Just start with the center of the seat cushion and work your way outward. If it doesn't fit right, just cut the Ty-Rap and do it over until it's perfect.

Unfortunately, it took about 8 Hrs. per seat. So depending on how you value your time, it might be worth paying the price for recovering or possibly just get new seats.

Corvette America did mine. They had a special in Dec. where if you bought an "interior package" ie-seat covers, installation kit, seat foam, door panels and carpet and sent your seat frames to them, they covered them for $1.00 apiece. I couldn't resist! They did a beautiful job!!! I also had them recover my steering wheel. Can't wait to get all that neat stuff in the car, but I have a long way to go. You might contact them and ask if the special is still good if you need the other parts too. I think the whole shootin match cost me about $1350.00.

Thanks, the special is not going on but I think I will have it done anyway. Thanks

Just an update if anyone is interested, I called Corvette American and they quoted me a price of 609.00 turn key to redo my seats. This is at least 200.00 cheaper than anyone else. The only draw back is it will take about 8 weeks to get it done but I have stuff to do on the car so it won't be wasted time.

It's worth the wait! You won't believe how good they look when you get them back. It took mine about 5 weeks.
