I was wondering if you fellow vette owners had some suggestions on a not too expensive alarm with the most effective features. Its for a '79 L-82.What is everybody using themselves?:confused I suppose "The Club" would be so-so for now:D ,and better than nothing.

C3R Vette,
I do not have an alarm but i was looking into one. i've heard some good reviews on it...its an Alpine SEC-100s ...as for "The Club" I hear all they do is cut your steering wheel and take it off...

what about those Sears batteries that disable with a keychain remote? Does anyone have one of those?

For some reason I dont know,I thought they quit making those?

C3R,
finally got through my paperwork, to look up what i got installed in mine: Chapman 450/550.. Some obscure Alarmsystem, i'm sure, but it seems to work fine (except for the door, which i left on the factory). Hope it helps..
Later...
Stefan :w

Alarms/ Recovery systems

Here in Arizona-- the NUMBER ONE car theft state in the nation-- the idea is to prevent the theft with pedal/steering wheel systems, interlock and battery cut-offs.
I also put LOJACK on our cars-- although wife's car has a factory-offered version of the same from Benz. Particularly with some of their new "notification" technologies, it seems like a good move, particularly on a collectible auto like our vettes.
It seems like the best way to be able to track the car and get it back !

And how much for a LoJack? I think that may be alittle more than I can spend rite now, unless the '79 was a split-window or something...............:eyerole :bu :CAC
