Security system issue

I pressed the security button on my key fob to test the security system for the first time. It worked, but now the dash lights and tail lights stay on and the car dings when opening the door.

Any ideas what is happening?

I'm not certain, but I'd hazard a guess that now that you've used the 'panic button' on the key fob, you have to turn the function off. Try putting your key in the driver's side door keyhole and turning it, as if to unlock the door, and seeing if that does anything to help.

I disconnected/reconnected the battery and the problem is solved. I will remember your advise next time Patrick.
