Series 4 rear end carrier?

I bought a used Series 4 rear end carrier(differential), the code is correct for 4:11 gears that year.

BUT! Is there any way to confirm that the gears inside are really 4:11's?

Count the teeth on the ring and the pinion. Post the count here.

There are no yokes.....yet.

Many ring and pinion sets have the tooth count stamped on the end of the pinion. For example, 41-9 (9 pinion teeth and 41 on the ring gear)= 4.56 ratio.

9 on the pinion and 37 on the ring.



There were some "red" spots on the pinion and a few on the ring.....whats that from?
